One of the activities I love most is tinkering with new technologies by exploring them creatively in an effort to identify new opportunities. Lately my explorations have taken me into the world of Virtual & Augmented Reality including various methods of interactive with virtual spaces. For example, this prototype tracks your hands using a Leap Motion. I’m hoping to get my hands on a Microsoft Hololens soon to build experiments aimed at designing new content creation & delivery platforms within an augmented reality space. Envisioning and creating the future is my passion.
I joined Bardel Entertainment during a phase of expansion; the company was growing from about 100 employees to over 600 across several locations with the challenge of producing 9 concurrent episodic properties. Throughout this ramp up I’ve had the opportunity to build a small team, implement new policy & procedures, manage studio wide infrastructure & software upgrades and act as a product manager for internally developed software. I provide value through supervision, career management, scheduling prioritized deliverables and guiding projects towards effective solutions which fit client needs.
I’ve always been interested in the development & production of creative properties, which is why I’ve decided to pursue a career in the media & entertainment industry. Being a part of crafting unique characters, environments and worlds through the marriage of art & technology is rewarding allows me to utilize my full skillset. I excel in the creative environment, whether I’m developing my own IP or working alongside a creative studio team bringing the next blockbuster to life on the big screen.
The world of independent game development has exploded in recent years thanks to the rise of accessible game engines, remote collaboration and indie friendly content delivery platforms. Colleagues of mine have become globally recognized for their successes for their indie games, which has inspired me to pursue the hobby I love and work towards releasing my own indie game. I’m actively working on Hextraction - a sci-fi turn-based RPG set in a hexagonal world - while taking the time to do the occasional game jams for fun, which often results in ridiculous creations such as Jet Pack Slaughter Dome!
Ever since I was 15 years old, handing out flyers advertising my lawn cutting services to my neighbors, I’ve been keen on being an entrepreneur. My dedication to this pursuit has yield measurable successes including co-founding Oak Computing to provide web development services for start-ups, Shameless Plug Media as my freelance brand which ran for 4 years producing mixed media content and more recently ComboMash Entertainment as my indie game brand. I use these experiences in my everyday career to help shift existing industry towards effective and potentially new revenue generating opportunities.
